Calibration tracking

Know which instruments are in calibration.

Torque wrenches, gas detectors, PAT testers and load cells need calibrating on a cycle. Hovermarks keeps the cycle, the certificate and the next due date on each instrument's QR-labelled record.

Calibration tracking uses the certificate register on the Professional plan. Record the calibration certificate and Hovermarks sets the last and next calibration dates for you, so the due date comes from the certificate rather than from someone retyping it.

01

A cycle on every instrument

Set the calibration cycle in days on the asset form or in your spreadsheet import, alongside the serial number, make and model.

02

Certificates set the dates

Upload the calibration certificate to the certificate register. Recording it sets the instrument's last calibrated and next calibration dates.

03

See what's due

Filter the asset list to instruments due or overdue for calibration, and use the calibration forecast report to see what falls due now and in the next 30, 60 and 90 days.

04

AI reads the certificate

With AI switched on, the text of an uploaded certificate is read and its type, dates and holder are suggested for you to check.

05

Expiry reminders

Certificates with an expiry date get reminders 30, 14 and 1 days before they expire.

Plans and limits

Calibration dates, the certificate register and expiry reminders are on Professional. On Starter and during the free trial you can record a calibration cycle, but the dates are only filled in from a calibration certificate, so the due and overdue views stay empty.

What it does not do

  • No calibration results, tolerances or as-found and as-left readings.
  • No separate calibration-due email; reminders come from certificate expiry dates.
  • Calibration dates cannot be imported from a spreadsheet; they come from certificates.
  • Hovermarks does not calibrate or certify anything. Your calibration provider does; Hovermarks keeps the record.

Frequently asked questions

Is calibration tracking on every plan?
No, it is on Professional, because it uses the certificate register. Starter can record the cycle but not the dates.
Can I use it for PAT testers and other test equipment?
Yes. Any asset can carry a calibration cycle and certificates, so the instruments your team tests with sit in the same register as the equipment they test.
Does it replace my calibration provider's certificate?
No. The provider's certificate is the evidence. Hovermarks stores it against the instrument and tracks when the next one is due.
