What UK fire safety law requires
The duty sits with the responsible person under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005; the British Standards describe what a suitable system of maintenance looks like. The cycles are theirs. Fire risk assessment

Fire doors in buildings over 11 metres
Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022, regulation 10. Communal fire doors every 3 months; flat entrance doors every 12 months, on a best endeavours basis.

BS 9999. Drop test on installation and at intervals of no more than one year.
Pass or fail per damper.
Sprinklers
BS EN 12845. Weekly checks, including gauge readings and a pump start test.
